JOB OVERVIEW:
Individual is responsible for implementing the day to day starting of play from the 1st tee.
Primary responsibilities will consist of but not be limited to: a warm, friendly, informative, and entertaining greeting for all groups with the intent to promote golf at CDV and assist in creating games for players. Informing players of course etiquette and general course information along with record keeping on each group to include first & last names, cart numbers, rental sets, turn times and overall pace of play, and location of groups on the course in case of emergency or for informational purposes. Assisting customers with any needs for F&B or any other customer service needs to enhance their experience. Awareness of upcoming groups and close interaction with the Staff for managing play and maximizing utilization of the tee sheet. Position must assist Golf Professional staff in enforcement of club rules and policies.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Essential:
1. Must have the ability to provide the highest level of customer service in the industry.
2. Strong interpersonal skills including name recognition.
3. Valid Driver's License.
4. Minimum 2 years driving experience with a clean record.
5. Ability to operate a Golf Car safely and transport all guests safely following all company safe practice standards.
6. Must be detail oriented and organized with ability to multi-task
7. Flexibility of hours and willingness to work more than 40 hours per week including holidays and weekends when needed.
8. Ability to work outdoors during all weather conditions with uniforms provided.
9. Must have ability to be a team player.
10. Must have strong communication skills.
Desirable:
1. High School Graduate
2. Prior work experience at resort and private golf facilities.
3. Strong understanding of high-end private club operations.
4. Knowledge of the game of golf.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Starting of play.
Introduce yourself or greet the member by name if it is known. Always try to use the member name and guest name when known.
Provide basic information on the course such as location of restrooms, water coolers, and distance markers.
Discuss handicap ranges and the tees to be played with the goal of getting the group on the appropriate tee based on their playing level and therefore creating the best possible experience. Let our members/guests know that our Green Tee is our "Member" tee or the tee that most players play.
Provide information on the cart accessories such as water cooler, and ball/club cleaner.
Advise players of the pin location for the day, showing how the chart works.
o Describe the CordeValle definition of pace of play, starting with our goal of playing a complete round in 4 hours 30 minutes. The whole discussion needs to be put in a positive light based on our objective that all players have an enjoyable round that is played in an unhurried yet timely fashion.
o Advise players of the need to fix divots and ball marks throughout the round.
o Use subtle reminders about clubs, club fitting, and lesson programming to up sell our programming here at CordeValle.
Wish the players luck, encourage them to enjoy their rounds.
Document pace of play for all groups on the course by accurately calculating and updating time per hole played.
Document all conversations and warnings issued to all groups. Work with Golf Professional staff on enforcing policies on and off the golf course.
Maintain an updated record of group names, tee times, and cart/caddie/walking charges.
When groups are lagging behind encourage them to speed their pace of play and offer suggestions such as playing Ready Golf, not looking for lost balls, playing a scramble type format, being sure to record scores on the next tee not the just completed green, parking carts in the appropriate location near greens.
After a request to increase pace of play, stay with the group to monitor their pace and provide a visible presence encouraging them to speed up. You should be visible but not intrusive at this point.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
